MSFWAR Weekly: Saving for Magik, Fighting for Whiplash
Why I am saving Orange ISO-8 for Magik, prioritizing Whiplash, and recommending Timeless Eternals after clearing Omega Cell 5.
I have not spent any of my Orange ISO-8 yet, and that is intentional. Before I commit those resources, I want a clearer picture of which types of characters we will need to unlock Magik (Breaker).
My other priority is unlocking Whiplash for Raids. I have been playing Kyln: Code Whiplash on Omega, and I cleared Cell 5 using teams from the Game Plan feature on MSFWAR. That clear came with a strong takeaway: Cell 5 is difficult enough that I would put serious attention into Timeless Eternals and Kingo’s passive T4.
Orange ISO-8: I’m waiting for the unlock picture
New upgrade resources make it tempting to start spending immediately. My approach with Orange ISO-8 is to wait until I can connect those upgrades to the characters needed for Magik’s unlock.
Scopely has already shared some First Breaker: Magik details. The announcement says Nodes 1–3 have no character requirements, and it describes special combat modifiers on several nodes. That is useful information, but it does not settle my spending plan for the full unlock path. Official event details
The question I want answered is straightforward: which types of characters do we need to build to unlock her? Until that picture is clear enough to plan around, my Orange ISO-8 is staying unspent. That is my recommendation for other players facing the same decision, too.
Omega Cell 5: where my Kyln run got difficult
I cleared Omega Cell 5, but I found it very difficult. All the teams I used came from our website’s Game Plan feature.
Based on that experience, I think beating this Cell without Timeless Eternals and Kingo’s passive T4 is unlikely. That is my assessment from playing it, not a claim that the game requires that exact team or that no alternative can work.
The interaction to understand is Revive Once removal. Kingo’s official kit explains that, with Eternal Saga active in War or Battleworld, his passive triggers his Ultimate on an enemy’s turn if that enemy has Revive Once or Charged. His Ultimate clears those effects. Official Timeless Eternals kit
This matters because War bonuses are active in Kyln: Code Whiplash. My recommendation is to check Kingo’s passive T4 when preparing for this fight, rather than looking only at the team’s overall power. Official Kyln rules
Why I would build Timeless Eternals
If someone is struggling on Cell 5, I would tell them to upgrade their Timeless Eternals.
I am comfortable recommending that investment because they have value beyond this one Cell. Scopely describes Alliance War and Battleworld as their specialties. Those are both useful places to get more out of the team you are building. You can explore our War counter directory and Dystopia Battleworld guides when planning those battles. Official team overview
I also expect them to be a key team in the next Battleworld.
Whiplash is my priority for Raids
Raid is a priority for everyone and Whiplash is a member of an upcoming meta raid team, so you NEED to at least unlock him. Official September 12–18 update
For my roster, the plan is to keep the Orange ISO-8 available for a better-informed Magik decision, while strengthening the team that can help me progress through Kyln. Those are different resource decisions: recommending Timeless Eternals upgrades does not mean I am recommending spending Orange ISO-8 on them right now.
If you are preparing your own run, open our Whiplash event page and select Make My Game Plan, then check the ability upgrades behind the suggested teams. Kingo’s passive is the detail I would pay particular attention to for Omega Cell 5.
